TECHNOLOGY BREAKTHROUGH

We discovered the future of natural bamboo fibre with our first Gen -1 breakthrough in mechanical extraction technology (2019)
BAMBOO FIBRE REVOLUTION
Hangterra Bamboo, together with our research partner Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM),
is revolutionizing sustainable materials with advanced bamboo fibre technology. After several iterations of innovation, we have successfully patented an efficient mechanical bamboo processing method.
Our Natural bamboo fibre are engineered for a greener future. Redefining the role of bamboo in construction, packaging, lifestyle applications, and a wide range of industries.
With the strong support of the Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) and the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), we are taking Malaysia’s bamboo industry to the next level.
Guided by the same vision, we aim to share this innovation globally, positioning bamboo as a key solution for sustainable development and a low-carbon future.

TRADITIONAL,NATURE
INSPIRED SOLUTIONS
Our commitment to human-centered design drives us to create traditional and nature -inspired solutions that prioritize sustainability and innovation. We believe in the power of bamboo to shape a low-carbon future, one product at a time.
KEY ACHIEVEMENT OF THE PROCESS
Zero-waste utilization :
· Long fibres → for textiles, composites, and potential apparel fabrics.
· Short fibres → for nonwovens, insulation mats, pulp-based products.
· Dust (~10%) → for biodegradable packaging fillers, soil enhancers, or energy recovery.
No chemical use
Long Bamboo Fibre
1. Strength & Durability
-
Higher tensile strength: Long fibres transfer stress more effectively, making yarns, ropes, and composites stronger.
-
Better fatigue resistance: Products made from long fibres withstand repeated stress and bending without breaking easily.
2. Spinnability & Yarn Quality
-
Easier to spin into continuous yarns: Long fibres can be twisted into smooth, strong threads without excessive blending.
-
Less shedding & linting: Fabrics and ropes made from long fibres shed fewer particles.
3. Superior Composite Performance
-
Higher load transfer: In composites, long fibres reinforce the matrix better than short fibres.
-
Improved mechanical properties: Higher impact resistance, flexural strength, and dimensional stability.
-
Directional strength: Long fibres can be aligned to create unidirectional (UD) tapes or woven fabrics, useful in automotive, aerospace, and construction.
4. Processing & Versatility
-
Less wastage: Long fibres reduce the need for excessive carding or blending with synthetics.
-
More flexibility in end-use: Can be processed into textiles, ropes, mats, UD tapes, nonwovens, or woven reinforcements.
5. Premium Applications
-
Long fibres are often seen as higher-value because they allow entry into advanced sectors like:
-
Technical textiles (industrial fabrics, ropes, filtration media)
-
Composites (boats, panels, insulation boards, automotive parts)
-
Fashion textiles (linen-style weaving, sustainable fabrics)
-
